On March 30, 2017, Dorothy L. Crossman (aka Dottie the Hottie) finally did something for herself and shed this life for something greater. She was 79. Born on February 12, 1938 in Corinth, NY, she was the daughter of the late Nelson and Lillian Gurney.
She survived many things including a not-so-great childhood and becoming a widow and single Mom to three daughters at the age of 36. She learned and did a great job raising her daughters. She loved the color pink; jigsaw puzzles; sub sandwiches; music; Elvis (even impersonators); ice cream and Grissom from CSI. She smiled easily and gave from her giant heart even when she should not have. Dottie was devoted to her grandchildren and absolutely lit up when around them. If you knew her, smile through your tears. If you didn't, smile because she would have loved to meet you!
She is survived by her three daughters, Debra L. Crossman, Rebecca A. Crossman and Cynthia L. Stoutenburg and husband Lanny and her beloved grandchildren, Gregory Lloyd, Kyle Storer, Tyler Storer and Lauren Stoutenburg V. She was predeceased by her husband Edson Richard Crossman and a grandson, Joshua John Lloyd.
A special thank you to Adult Day Care and the staff and residents at the SNU unit at Catskill Regional Medical Center for their wonderful care of our mother.
As per Dorothy's request, there will be no services.
