Harriet Elizabeth "Betty" Atkins, of Liberty, NY, entered into eternal rest on Friday April 26, 2013 at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, NY. She was 76.
The daughter of the late Elmer and Irene Hunt Atkins, she was born on February 15, 1937 in Liberty, NY and was the youngest of 12 children. Betty was a retired Legal Secretary and was a life-long member of Liberty United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her 10 brothers, Edward, Walter, George "Shorty", Victor, Kenneth, Eugene "Hawk", Donald, Ralph, Allen "Skip" and Wayne and by one sister, Irene "Sis".
Betty was a lifetime resident in the Atkins family home. She leaves behind three sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Betty will forever be loved, missed and always remembered as "Aunt Bet".
Visiting hours will be on Tuesday April 30, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 275 S. Main St. Liberty, NY. Funeral services are on Wednesday, May 1 at 11 AM at the funeral home. Rev. John Thomason will officiate. Burial will be in the Atkins family plot at Liberty Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Liberty United Methodist Church, 170 N. Main St. Liberty, NY 12754.
