Beverly Touwsma

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Beverly Touwsma, of Pine Bush, NY. Beverly left us peacefully, surrounded by family on March 28, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Clive and Marie VanWart born on September 27th, 1943 in Yonkers, New York. A beloved wife, devoted family member, and cherished friend. Beverly’s kind spirit, infectious smile, and warm heart touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

She shared a lifetime of love with her one true love, Albert “Al” Touwsma, and their bond was an inspiration to all who knew them. Beverly’s unwavering devotion to her family was evident in everything she did, always offering love, support, and kindness to those around her.

Beverly, affectionately known by past students of Fallsburg school as “Miss T”, dedicated her life to education and touched the hearts of countless students with her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering support. Her passion for teaching and her dedication to her students left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Beverly is survived by her loving family and friends, who will forever cherish her memory and the values she instilled in them. She is survived by her brother Alfred VanWart and wife Jackie of Lake Sacandaga; sons George Touwsma of Monticello , Nakai Touwsma of Buffalo, Skyler Touwsma and wife Jaime of Walker Valley, and Pierre Touwsma and wife Michelle of North Carolina; nine grandchildren Samantha Touwsma, Jessica Brutting, Ryan Touwsma, Eric Touwsma, Alani Touwsma, Jayla Touwsma, Cayden Touwsma, Talyn Touwsma, and Dashiell Jordan; one great granddaughter Maddalena Rhyne. Beverly was predeceased by her husband Albert Touwsma; sister Sally VanWart and sister Susan VanWart.

Family and friends are invited to share in memory of Beverly’s life at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 NY-52 Woodbourne, NY 12788 on Friday April 4th, from 6-8 p.m.
