Adrian Ad Phillip, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on June 12, 2025, in Monticello, New York, at the age of 41.
Born on December 9, 1983, in Trinidad, Adrian spent most of his life in Yonkers and Sullivan County, where he was known for his kindness, strength, and unwavering dedication to his family. He worked as a committed sanitation worker, taking pride in every day’s work and the life he built for his loved ones.
Adrian was married to the love of his life, Samantha Phillip, for 7 beautiful years. Together they shared a deep bond built on love, loyalty, and family. Adrian was the proud father of three cherished children — Saniyah Phillip and Yulenah Phillip from a previous relationship, and Raygen Phillip, his daughter with Samantha. He was a devoted and loving father, always putting his children first and making sure they felt supported, safe, and deeply loved.
He is survived by his wife Samantha and his children: Saniyah, Yulenah, and Raygen. He also leaves behind his beloved mother Martina Phillip-Cowell; his siblings Tricia Phillip, Alan Charles, Josette Gregory, and Kerry Ann Durity; his mother-in-law Patricia Van Der Ploeg; his sisters-in-law Nicole Hansen, Kathryn Van Der Ploeg, and Winter Ransom; and his brother-in-law William Van Der Ploeg. Adrian is also remembered with love by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends.
Adrian was pre deceased by his grandmother Philomena Phillip and his Father Tony Cowell.
Adrian’s beautiful smile and contagious laugh could light up any room. He was a man known for his generosity — always ready to lend a hand or give the shirt off his back. He had a deep love for fishing, working out, and the freedom he found riding his motorcycle. But more than anything, Adrian loved his family. His greatest joy came from being a father and spending time with those he held close.
A service to honor and celebrate Adrian’s life will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52 Woodbourne, New York. with a funeral service starting at 2:00pm with Father Ben Zirra. All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend.
Adrian’s warmth, strength, and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
