Alberta
Williams
Dec 9, 1937 — Sep 4, 2026
Alberta Corley Williams was born on December 9,1937 at Lincoln Hospital in The Bronx, NY to Edward Corley and Zaida Hamilton Corley. She passed away on September 4, 2026 at Achieve Rehab and Nursing Facility in Liberty, NY. Alberta was raised between 854 Hewitt Place, The Bronx and Ithaca, NY. She graduated from Morris High School in 1955. In 1961, Alberta married Melvin Williams. She became a widow early on in her marriage. She was a loving mother to seven children - Russell, Lynn, Gregory, Theresa, Tyrone, Rodney and Robert. The family resided in Soundview and Castle Hill sections of The Bronx. Alberta worked as a Home Attendant, School Bus Matron and Cashier at Rite Aid Pharmacy in the Castle Hill area until she retired in 1998. She moved from Castle Hill to the Catskills in 1998 where she lived in S. Fallsburg, NY and shortly after, moving to Monticello, NY where she made "Horizons" her final home.
Alberta had a love for cooking, was an excellent cook and hosted many family dinners and gatherings, especially during the holidays. She always had her door open to someone in need as she allowed many family members and close friends to reside in her home. Alberta also had a love for family especially her grandchildren who she doted on and spent a great deal of time with. She also shared that same love she had for her grandchildren with other children for whom she babysitted. There were always plenty of children in Alberta's home for her to share her love with.
She loved to hang out with her friends and play spades, cook and party. She was very close friends with Sister Berry, Aunt Sylvia, Ms. Suemae, Ms. Julia, Ms. Carter, Ms. Lenore, Ms. Tammy, Ms. Susie, Ms. Joyce/Mr. Phil and Ms. Beverly while she resided in Castle Hill and their friendship continued once she moved to the Catskills.
Over the last several years of her life, Alberta's health declined where she needed to be cared for in the home. Her devoted son Tyrone gave his love and time to manage her care and took care of all of her needs. He orchestrated a system of care for her that involved 24-hour care. He gave so much of himself even when it was hard, to make sure her last years were filled with love, comfort, safety and happiness. Tyrone could not have done this without his equally devoted care team of Daneisha, Denayah, Frances, Qataiyah, Crystal, Destiny and Shakeema. He will forever be grateful and thankful for their love, care and support of his mother until she could no longer be cared for in the home.
