Allen was a hard‑working man who spent many years as a mechanic at Robert Green's in Monticello, NY as well as working on farms and in sawmills throughout the county. He enjoyed working with his hands and took pride in every job he did.

When he wasn't working, Allen could often be found relaxing in his chair, watching his favorite sports and shows-football, wrestling, NCIS, FBI, and the Winter Olympics. He had a deep love for animals, especially his many "fur babies," who were always close by, whether on his chair, his bed, or following at his feet.
