Angel Velez Jr., known affectionately as Junito, was a man of many talents, an infectious personality, and a heart full of joy. From a young age, he was deeply passionate about martial arts, earning his black belt in Karate and demonstrating discipline and skill both in and out of the dojo. His dedication to his craft was a testament to his strong character and work ethic.
Angel's work life reflected his vibrant nature, having held various positions as a waiter at several resorts, including Granite, where he brought his warm personality and excellent service to every guest. He also worked at numerous camps during the Jewish holidays, contributing to the community with his ever-present smile and positive attitude.
Angel loved to look his best. He took pride in his appearance and always dressed with a clean, classy style that matched his dignified presence. Whether he was out socializing or spending time with loved ones, he made sure to shine with his well-put-together outfits, which spoke to his love for life and his desire to always put his best foot forward.
One of Angel’s greatest joys was to dance, laugh, and have fun. His infectious laugh and love for a good time were known to brighten any room, no matter where he was. Angel was the life of any gathering, making friends wherever he went and leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those around him.
Well-respected by all who knew him, Angel was a young man with a strong sense of character, full of kindness, humor, and integrity. His legacy of joy, laughter, and hard work will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
On February 28, 2025, Angel was called home to rest, but his vibrant spirit, love for life, and the positive impact he had on those around him will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends. May he rest in eternal peace.
Angel survived by his father Angel Velez Sr. and his fiancé, Diana and brother Christopher of Ellenville, his sister Enid and husband, Tim of Texas, his sister, Maria, and her husband Marc of Napanoch, His unknown brother, Tom Smith of Tampa, Florida. His children, Angel Velez III, Kristopher & AnnaBella, several nieces, nephews, and cousins along with many aunts and uncle.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52 Woodbourne, NY 12788 from 2-4:00pm. A Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 3, 2025, at St. Mary's St. Andrews Catholic Church, 137 S. Main Street, Ellenville, NY 12428 at 10:00am. Interment will be at Fantinekill Cemetery.
