Angela Ortiz-Rivera

Angela A. Ortiz-Rivera, 58, of Ellenville, passed away on November 25, 2025, at the Kaplan Family Residence. She was born on September 11, 1967, in Ellenville, New York, the daughter of the late Angelo Ortiz and Rae Snyder.

Angela was an avid animal lover who found joy in the simplest moments-watching hummingbirds, feeding squirrels, and admiring dolphins. She also loved cooking and baking, and her family will always remember the warmth and comfort of her favorite dishes, especially her rice and gandules. Above all, Angela's greatest pride and joy was her family, especially her beloved grandchildren. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was truly the life of the party. Although she was rarely on time, everyone always knew when Angela arrived-her presence was unforgettable. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished friend.

Angela leaves behind her husband, Abner Rivera, and her children, Abner Rivera II and Jeffrey Ortiz Rivera. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Isabella and Olivia; her siblings, Gerald Snyder, Arnold Ortiz, Kirk Ortiz, and Frankie Ortiz; her dear nieces, Nicole Ortiz and Rebecca Rivera Roller; and Mya Vincent, whom Angela lovingly became a big part of her life.

She was predeceased by her sister, Roberta "Robbie" Snyder; her niece, Ariana Snyder; her nephew, Jay Jay Ortiz; and her mother-in-law, Lydia Ester Rivera.

A graveside service will be held on December 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Pine Bush Cemetery, Kerhonkson, NY, with Pastor Cates officiating.
