It is with deep sorrow to announce the passing of our loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Nana, Aunt (Owl), sister, sister in-law, and friend after a beautifully lived life.
Artha passed away on Monday February 17, 2025, at the age of 81, with her loving family by her side. Artha fought a short, but brave battle with Leukemia.
Born in Roseau, Minnesota on May 1, 1943, to Edwin and Mable (Howg) Hedman. Artha was a strong-willed, independent woman who worked hard all her life at various jobs, including Ross Industries, ARC, and a 30 plus years at ShopRite Artha was a die-hard Yankee fan, loved to play softball in her younger years, enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing Zelda, jigsaw puzzles and anything that involved her family. Artha is survived by her daughters Patsy Lawrence (Peter), Teri Knight, Cindi Mungere, and Debra Charlton, son Troy Lauria, her grandchildren Joseph, Peter (Melissa), Kevin, Thomas (Brianna), Nicholas (Alison), Jillian (Logan), Jocelyn (Naz), her great grandchildren Serenity, Everly, Magnus, Marcus, Charlotte, and Bennett. Her sisters Judith Terranova, and Joyce Steinglass (Ralph), Rhea (Domenick) and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Artha was predeceased by her parents, her brother Edwin (Red) Hedman, and brother-in-law George Terranova.
A service will be held on Saturday February 22 at 2:00 pm at Colonial-Ramsay Liberty, 275 South Main Street, Liberty, NY 12754. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude for all of the care and support provided by Garnett Health, Dr. Koulova and all their staff. The family is requesting that, if possible, donate to your local blood bank, or your local Red Cross in Artha’s memory.
