August W. Kahn, a longtime Liberty resident, passed away on Monday June 15, 2015 at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, NY. He was 96 years of age. The son of the late William and Louise Kahn, he was born on June 12, 1919 in West New York, NJ.
He was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church for many years and was a life member of Clarence Hoyt VFW Post # 9217, Liberty, NY.
Survivors include several family members, including nieces and nephews and several friends. His wife, Mary A. Hotchkin Kahn, predeceased him in 2009.
Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope, NY and burial of his cremains will be at a future date at Rural Cemetery, Grahamsville, NY with his beloved wife, Mary.
Memorial contributions may be made to Liberty United Methodist Church, 170 N. Main St. Liberty, NY 12754.
