Carol Ann Passante (Aprea) passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the age of 86.
Carol was born on April 23, 1939. She was raised in Astoria, Queens with her two sisters Loretta Parze (Robert) and Linda Janecki (Phil). The sisters are predeceased by their parents, Albert Aprea and Angelina Perna Aprea.
Carol spent most of her life on Long Island, NY, raising her 3 children Linda Passante, Martin Passante (Gina), and Craig Passante (Kara). However, playing a role in the development of the Villa Roma Resort and Conference Center, Carol lived temporarily in Callicoon, NY in the 1970s. In her later years, Carol decided to stay in Callicoon permanently. Carol loved the beach, making jewelry, collecting gemstones, line dancing, and planting. She was known for her quick wit, killer Scrabble skills, and Carol took great pride in her do-it-yourself projects and renovations. She enjoyed traveling and was very proud of her Italian heritage.
Despite all of her passions, her greatest joy and accomplishments were her children Linda, Marty and Craig. Carol loved nothing more than her family. She was blessed with 8 grandchildren, Bryan Sandler (Laura), Samantha Sandler, Michael Sandler (Sean), Martin Passante (Jaclyn), Harrison Passante (Jacqueline), Rozalyn Passante, Isabelle Passante and Charlotte Passante and eight great grandchildren, Elijah, Emmett, Evelyn and Eric Sandler, Penelope and Martin Passante, and Hallie and Reece Passante.
Carol was predeceased by her sister-in-law Eleanor Cook and her two nephews, Paul Weber and Robert Weber and will be greatly missed by her nephews Robert, Michael and Steven (Shelia) Parze, her nieces Carol Ann Cook, Tiffany Cook (Annie) and Melinda and Lily Lovgren (Erik), Virginia Michaels (Joel), as well as many extended family members.
Funeral services with mass will be held at St. George’s Church in Jeffersonville, NY on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 11am.
