Carol Pelayes

Carol Marie Pelayes, 72, of Woodbourne, New York, passed away on October 28, 2025, at Westchester Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Ralph Van Pelt and Goldie Davis, born on June 24th, 1953, in Callicoon, New York.

For many years, Carol worked as a bus driver for Rolling Bus Company. She loved cooking, baking, crocheting, and gardening-especially making her famous macaroni and cheese. Carol never knew how to cook small portions; she always cooked enough to feed an army. She had a deep affection for her car, which she rarely let anyone else drive.

In her downtime, she enjoyed watching her favorite shows, Judge Judy and Naked and Afraid, just to name a few. Carol was the kind of person who would give the shirt off her back to help someone in need. She was stubborn yet caring, blunt but full of warmth and advice. She loved camping and spending time with her family-whether it was going shopping or simply sitting around and talking together.

Carol took great pride in her home, always keeping it spotless and constantly rearranging things to her liking. Above all, she cherished her grandchildren, and family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Raul; her children Christina (Julio), Raul Jr., (Jennifer), and Nidia; her grandchildren Manuel, Cristian, Aiden, Logan, Tyler, Ashlyn, Arykah, and Andrew; her siblings Bruce (Mary), and Richard; and her niece Savannah, along with many other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings.

Services were held privately at the convenience of the family.
