Carolyn Ann Perito, of Rock Hill, NY passed away on July 10, 2026, at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. She was 62 years old.

Carolyn was born on June 19, 1964 to Antonio and Lucille (Visconti) Perito in the Bronx. She grew up alongside her beloved brother and within walking distance of numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins in a tightly-knit Italian family who lived in residence nearby.

Carolyn attended Catholic elementary and high school, and went on to obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and a Master's Degree in Social Work. She dedicated most of her career to working in the field of eldercare, and she was a fierce and caring advocate for the people she served in agencies such as King's Harbor Multi-Care Center in the Bronx, the Sentinel Assisted Living Community in Port Jervis, NY, and later at New Hope Community in Loch Sheldrake, NY. Carolyn was a skilled administrator and passionate about her work; she went above and beyond her duty to find creative ways of bringing dignity, joy, and meaning to the residents she served. She was known as being the consummate professional with a wealth of knowledge and wisdom - not only about her field of expertise-but about life.

Carolyn was highly educated, yet her intelligence was always at the service of charity, and she never considered herself superior to others. She had a great sense of humor - known as "the life of the party" especially in her younger years. Although she had a strong personality and was not shy about asserting her opinions, at heart she cared deeply for others. She was very well read, enjoyed reading poetry and was well-versed in sacred Scripture and could dialogue with almost anyone about many different topics. Carolyn loved music. A musical aficionado, she played the piano and enjoyed sharing her musical talent with the people she served.

Most importantly, Carolyn had a loyal heart - fiercely dedicated to her family. She tenderly cared for her mother and father, honoring them by sacrificing several years of her life to tend to their needs as they aged. She lovingly raised her stepchildren, Milton, Natalie, and Ivan, whom she cherished as her own and of whom she was deeply proud. She adored her brother, Anthony, and his children. Her strong, sometimes gruff, personality could not hide or diminish her steadfastness and loyalty to those she loved.

Carolyn is predeceased by her parents, Tony and Lucille. She is survived by her brother Anthony Perito (Jennifer); her niece, Jacqueline Perito Williams (Matthew) and great-nephew, Zachary; her nephew, Antonio "Tony" Perito (Nicole) and her great-niece Noelle and great-nephew, Giovanni; her beloved stepchildren, Milton Soto, Natalie Soto, and Ivan Inga, and her step-grandchildren Joshua Arroyo, Evan and Jace Gonzalez, and Addison and Jacob Soto; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and colleagues.

A visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 14th, 2026, from 4-6 pm and on Wednesday, July 15th, from 11 am-12:30 pm at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52 in Woodbourne. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Bob Porpora on Wednesday, July 15th at 1:00 pm at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Route 42, Woodbourne, NY. Interment will follow at Grahamsville Rural Cemetery, Route 55, Grahamsville.
