Christopher Michael McHenry, 42, passed away on Friday, July 25th, in Livingston Manor, NY, after a courageous battle with a long illness.
Born in Erie, Pennsylvania on September 11, 1982 Christopher was a bright and thoughtful young man who completed dual degrees in English and Photography - fields that reflected both his intellect and his artistic eye. He had a sharp wit, a deep love of words, and an appreciation for the beauty in life's quiet moments.
In earlier years, when his health allowed, Christopher accomplished one of his proudest personal feats: completing multiple Navy SEAL obstacle courses. It was a testament to his determination.
A devoted fan of anime, Christopher found comfort, inspiration, and joy in the stories and artistry of the medium.
Christopher is survived by his loving mother, Kathy; his sister Jody and her husband Jeff, and their daughters Dylan and Morgan; his brother David and his wife Jessica, and their children Skyler, Keenan, Riley, Donovan, and Liam. He was predeceased by his father, Michael, and his cherished cat, Azrael.
He will be remembered with love by his family and all who knew him - for his humor, his resilience, and his deeply thoughtful nature.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Jeffrey Weinstein and Dr. Adrienne Salomon for their unwavering dedication and compassion. Their continued care and belief in Christopher, even when others had given up hope, brought tremendous comfort and dignity to his journey.
A private memorial will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Christopher’s memory to the Livingston Manor Volunteer Ambulance Corps, PO Box 1, Livingston Manor, NY 12758.
