View Tribute Book David Allen Sparling, formerly of Pine Bush, NY and West Union, WV, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at home with his loving family by his side. He was 73.He was the son of the late Edwin J. Sparling and Edith L. Sexton, born on September 21, 1944 in Los Angeles, CA.David was a mechanic his whole life, he could work on and fix just about everything, the only thing he didn’t work on were airplanes and locomotives. Because of his love for working with his hands he was known to be an exceptional handy man, he built everything and his motto was “why buy it, if I can build it?” In his free time he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Outdoors activities were his passion. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to all who knew him.He leaves behind his devoted wife, Lucy, whom he married on December 22, 1976; his children Dante Sparling and his wife Maria of Middletown, William Short and his wife Lisa of Pine Bush, and Deborah DeGraw and her husband Bobby of Hurleyville; his grandchildren Dillon Sparling, Braiden DeGraw, and Nicole and Andreanna Short; as well as 3 nieces and a nephew.Donations in David’s name can be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Ct., Newburgh, NY 12550 or Peoples Hospice of Bridgeport West Virginia, 300 Davisson Run Rd.
