Diane H. Holland

June 12, 1933 — July 28, 2025

Kauneonga Lake

Diane Holland, loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt passed to be with the Lord on Monday July 28, 2025. Diane was 92 years old and was a resident of Kauneonga Lake, New York for over 70 years.

Diane grew up with her 4 siblings born to Hans Howald and Lily (Turner) in Manhattan, New York on June 12, 1933. Diane was raised in Narrowsburg, New York where her early childhood years were spent in the Half Moon Hotel, which her parents owned. The smell of home cooking from French chefs and the sound of crab apples hitting the tin roof of the cabins were some of her earliest memories. Diane attended Narrowsburg High School graduating in 1951. She devoted her life to raising her 3 children. Diane filled her home with warmth, laughter, love, and open arms - not just for her own but many other neighborhood children who found comfort, care, and kindness in her presence.

Diane was full of life. She was a devoted servant to Christ and her church. With the power of her Elvis Gospel CDs and toolbox in her van (Betsy), she was always ready to lend a helping hand. Between food pantries, senior luncheons, or any project that needed to be done, Diane was there without hesitation. Her tireless spirit and boundless generosity defined her. She always gave her all. Diane always found joy in life’s simple and beautiful things. She adored colorful flowers, fluttering butterflies, chirping birds, and the magic of rainbows. She would always pause to appreciate their beauty and point them out to those around her.

Diane was a member of Fosterdale United Methodist Church in Fosterdale, New York.

Diane is survived by her sister Helen Bischoff (Honey) of Leesburg, FL, her three children Loren Holland and his wife Jill of Kauneonga Lake, NY, Cheryl Hersh and her husband Martin of Liberty, NY, and Patti Huebner of Kauneonga Lake, NY. She is also survived by her six grandchildren Shannon Holland-VanKeuren and her husband Keith, Justin Holland and his wife Aimee, Matthew Hersh, Andrew Hersh, Brooke Huebner, and Aj Holland, and one great-grandchild Nessiah Roselli and her husband Dominic, and many nieces and nephews.

Diane was predeceased by her youngest son Brad Holland, her life partner Ned Jacobs, her son-in-law Dan Huebner, her grandsons Christopher Holland and Daniel Huebner, her brother Hans Howald Jr., and her sisters Veronica Weiner (Pixie) and Anne Riznick.
