Dionisio Gonzalez, a longtime resident of Liberty, NY, passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday September 10, 2013. He was 86.
The son of the late Sylvestri and Ramona Gonzalez, he was born on February 14, 1927 in Puerto Rico. He worked for many years as a prep cook at Grossinger's Hotel in Liberty, NY.
He is survived by his wife, Ramona Gonzalez, at home; sons, Dennis Gonzalez of Liberty and Barry Gonzalez and his fiancé Thamika Burke of Liberty; daughters, Elizabeth Gonzalez and husband Efrain of Puerto Rico, Esther Gonzalez of Monticello, Betty Gonzalez of Monticello, Judy Gonzalez of Liberty, Rosa Aragon and husband Santos of Loch Sheldrake and Diane Reyes and her husband Nelson of Woodbourne; 19 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Brian Gonzalez, one brother and five sisters.
Visitation will be held today, Friday, September 13 from 4- 8 PM at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 275 S. Main St. Liberty. Funeral services will be on Saturday September 14 at 10 AM at Ramsay's Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery, Liberty, NY.
