Doris Reynolds

Doris S. Reynolds, a longtime resident of Livingston Manor, NY, passed away at the age of 97 on Sunday, June 16, 2024.
Doris was the daughter of the late George Dewey Scudder and Bertha Ruschkowski Scudder,. She was born March 12, 1927 in Lew Beach, NY.
Doris graduated from the Geneseo State Teachers College where she was a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa sorority. She went on to become a dedicated teacher in Livingston Manor Central School for 37 years until her retirement in 1990.
She was a member of the Livingston Manor Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder for many years. Doris was also a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Doris loved her small town. She enjoyed visiting with people, helping students, driving places in her Buick and traveling domestically and abroad. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Doris is survived by her children James “Jimmy” Reynolds of Livingston Manor, Melanie Reynolds-Gibson and her husband Howard of Oak Ridge , NJ and Steven Reynolds and his wife Carolyn of Wappingers Falls, NY; her granddaughters Sarah Gibson and Abigail and Emmaline Reynolds; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Fred J. Reynolds, her sisters Ella Salzman, Bertha and Mary Scudder and a brother George ¨Sonny¨ Scudder.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at the Colonial-Bryant Funeral Home, 29 Pearl Street, Livingston Manor, NY. A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Lew Beach Cemetery, Beaverkill Road, Lew Beach, NY.
