Doru “George” Zarija, of Hurleyville, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2015. He was 66.
He was the son of the late Djordje Zarita and Maria Zivan, born on May 15, 1949 in Yugoslavia.
George worked as an automotive mechanic doing body and fender work in Queens. In his free time he enjoyed being outside hunting and fishing. He was a loving husband, son-in-law, brother-in-law and uncle, he will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Vickie Zivan at home; his mother-in-law Livia Zurka; his sister-in-law Bobica Barbu and her husband George; his nieces; as well as his great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 10am at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Liberty Cemetery, Liberty, NY.
