Obituary

Dwayne Cabrera, 63 of Rock Hill, NY, passed away peacefully after a long illness with his family at his side on February 24, 2026.

Dwayne was born January 11,1963 in Monticello, NY. He was a gifted athlete who thoroughly enjoyed playing sports and the camaraderie that came with it. Depending on the season you could be sure to find him either bowling, playing softball or golfing. He was equally as happy to return home to his family, finding the greatest joy and contentment in the simple pleasures of life. Dwayne was a loving and dedicated son, father and partner. His life would not have been complete without the birth of his daughter Savannah. She was and remained the source of his greatest happiness and brought him immense pride and joy. He took the greatest pleasure in raising her and being known simply as Savannah's daddy. He was always happy and smiling. Those that knew him can attest to his happy go lucky nature. He had a huge heart filled with love for life, family, friends and animals, especially dogs.

Dwayne leaves behind at home his significant other of 37 years Marguerite Rao and his daughter Savannah, his brother and sister-in-law Salvatore & Donna DeLuca and nephew Salvatore DeLuca Jr of Brooklyn, NY. He was predeceased by his mother and father Arlene and Julio Cabrera and his mother and father-in-law Pat and Al Rao.

Services are being handled by Colonial Memorial Funeral Home and are private. We respectfully ask in celebration of Dwayne's life and love to please consider making a donation in his name to St. Judes. St. Judes was close to his heart as he felt truly blessed to have a healthy daughter and became a regular contributor since her birth.

A final word: We learned through this journey together that there truly is no end to love.
