Earnestine Bridges, a longtime area resident, went to be with the Lord on Monday August 27, 2012. She passed away at her residence in Liberty, NY. Earnestine was 65 years of age.
The daughter of the late Johnnie Hamilton and Inez Cook Hamilton, she was born on February 19, 1947 in Alabama.
Earnestine was a Licensed Practical Nurse and retired from her position at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, NY. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Ferndale, NY. She was a life member of the DAV Auxiliary and a life member of the VFW Auxiliary and she belonged to Local 1199 Hospital Workers Union.
She is survived by her husband, John Bridges, at home; a daughter, Sonya Hamilton of Liberty, NY; a brother, Tommie Hamilton and his wife Tammy of Greenville, AL; sisters, Barbara Richards, Fannie McCants and Rena Gavin, all of Greenville, AL and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Johnnie Pearl Hamilton.
Friends may call on Thursday August 30, 2012 from 4 - 5 PM at Friendship Baptist Church, Ferndale, NY. At 5 PM, funeral services will be held with Rev. Harry Brown Jr. officiating.
Burial will take place on Saturday Sept. 1 at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Greenville, AL.
Memorial donations are requested to be made to Friendship Baptist Church, 11 Upper Ferndale Rd. Liberty, NY 12734.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Ramsay's Funeral Homes Inc. Thomas E. Warren, Director.
