Edward J. McGowan, 61, a longtime resident of the area, died on Monday July 15, 2013 in Schenectady, NY.
He was the son of Edward J. McGowan Sr. and Catherine Connolly McGowan and was born on August 8, 1951 in New York City. He was a member of St. George's Roman Catholic Church in Jeffersonville and was the former owner/operator of the Jeffersonville Bowling Alleys.
He is survived by his mother, Catherine McGowan of Binghamton, NY; his son, Scott McGowan and his companion Carolee of Jeffersonville; his daughter, Kristy Sims and her fiance Lawrence English of Jeffersonville; two grandchildren, Kevin Sims Jr. and Karina Sims and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Brian McGowan.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday August 6, 2013 at 2 PM at Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
