Eleanor M. Gearhart, of Smallwood, NY, passed away peacefully at home on Friday September 19, 2014. She was 94 years of age. She was the daughter of the late William and Josephine Wanner Althenn and was born on February 2, 1920 in New York City.
Eleanor had worked as a secretary for Myrtle Motors in Middle Village, NY. She was a member of Bethel Senior Citizens and was the widow of Edwin Gearhart who passed away in 1971. She was also predeceased by her son, William Gearhart.
Survivors include her daughter Lynne Gearhart and her partner Gail Button of Little Ferry, NY; her daughter-in-law, Judy Gearhart of Smallwood, NY and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Sunday, February 21, 2014 from 2 - 4 PM at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 3534 RT. 55, Kauneonga Lake, NY. Funeral services will be held at 4 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY on Tuesday, September 23 at 2 PM.
