Esther M. Simpson

My mother Esther M. Simpson, daughter of Fredrick M. and Ida Mae Young Oestrich, entered into peaceful rest on February 23, 2015 at her home. She was a young 86 years old. She was married to Harold E Simpson, who predeceased her on June 9, 1983. She was the last of five children in the Oestrich family: she was "mom" to everyone.

She leaves behind her devoted loving daughter, Gail S. Simpson at home, who worshiped the ground she walked on. Words cannot express how much Gail loved her and will miss her; great-niece, Cori Allison Weinstein (daughter) and her fiance, Logan Parsells of Rock Hill, NY; nephew, Fredrick W. DuMond (son) of Livingston Manor, NY and his son Fredrick L. DuMond of Bradley, NY; great-nephew, Jayson B. Weinstein (son) and his wife, Monica and their two children: Parker Owen and Olivia Charlie of Reston, VA. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Norma Oestrich, and several nieces and nephews, and many lifelong friends.

Esther was predeceased by her two sisters: Marian DuMond and Beatrice Foster, and her two brothers: Lawrence Oestrich and Leonard Oestrich. She was predeceased by her niece, Shelley J. Weinstein (daughter) and niece, Elaine Ulbrich (daughter). Her "son" Edmund F King also predeceased her.

Funeral services will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, February 28th at Herbert C. Bryant Funeral Home 29 Pearl Street, Livingston Manor NY.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at PO Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908, shop.stjude.org. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home for your convenience.

Interment will be in the spring.
