Francis G. Donlon, 86, of Monticello, passed away on December 7, 2025, at the Care Center at Sunset Lake. He was born on September 22, 1939, in Brooklyn to the late Francis J. Donlon and Mae Dorothy Corwin.
Francis proudly served in the United States Navy before beginning a long and dedicated career as a Correctional Officer for the State of New York, from which he later retired. He was also an active member of the NRA.
A skilled auto mechanic, Francis enjoyed working on cars, staying active through exercise, and spending time with friends and family. He had a wonderful sense of humor-always able to make others laugh and bring light to any situation. Despite his fun-loving nature, he instilled strong values in his daughters, encouraging their independence and offering steady words of wisdom throughout their lives.
Francis loved traveling to visit family, hosting company at home, and watching classic shows such as The Three Stooges and All in the Family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Diane; his daughters, Dorothy (Steve) Donlon and Flo Donlon; his grandchildren, Nicole (John) Picarello, Joseph (Kristen) Rittacco, and Angelina Donlon; and his great-grandchildren, Cali, Johnny, and Nathan and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, Frankie A. Donlon, and his siblings, Pat, Tommy, Harry, and Dorinda.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 13th, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, New York. A funeral service will follow at 12:30 PM at the funeral home, with interment at Rock Ridge Cemetery in Monticello.
