Fred G. Loscig, of Mountaindale, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at home. He was 78.
He was the son of the late Allan Loscig and Aldora Hazen, born on November 2, 1937 in Honesdale, PA.
Fred worked as a laborer for Resnick Supermarket Equipment Corp. until his retirement. Fred was a true outdoorsman. He started out working on the family farm in Pennsylvania. As he got older his love for the outdoors grew, especially enjoying hunting and fishing. He was a past member of the ETNA Sportsman Club and a current member of the NRA. On August 31, 1991 he married Thelma Jean Stackhouse. Fred was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He will be sorely missed and fondly remembered.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted wife Thelma at home; his son Steven and his wife Antoinette Ryder of California; his grandchildren Nathan and Natalie; his siblings Harland, Jack and Lester Loscig and Darlene Szezark and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Robert, Gilbert, Alan and Clarence.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 from 7 to 9 PM at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 55 St. John St., Monticello, NY 12701. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 8:30 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Roy Shaffer officiating.
