Obituary

Gary J. Dickman, son of Earl and Renee Dickman, a lifelong resident of Ellenville, New York, devoted family man, entrepreneur, and beloved friend, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026, at the age of 74, surrounded by his loving family.

Born and raised in Ellenville, Gary spent all 74 years of his life in the community he cherished. Deeply rooted in family, faith, and hometown values, he was a familiar and respected presence to generations of Ellenville residents.

Gary was deeply committed to his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Ronnie; his sister, Terri (Tim), and brother, Scott (Mandi); his daughters, Jamie (Marcus) and Melissa; his cherished grandchildren, Courtney (Daniel), Justin, Maya, and Jacob; and his great-grandchildren, Sebastian and Scarlett. He also leaves behind countless nieces, nephews, and cherished lifelong friends who, over the years, became a natural extension of his family and were moved by his love, wisdom, and steadfast presence.

Gary dedicated his entire professional life to Freskeeto Frozen Foods, carrying forward the family legacy, partnering with his brother Scott. Together, they embodied the strong family values, while expanding the business from what was built by Bernie, Earl and Howard Dickman. Through decades of hard work, loyalty and integrity, Gary and Scott worked alongside one another until his retirement in 2014. To colleagues, employees, and customers alike, Gary was widely known as a successful and generous business man, whose deeply caring nature led to the strength of his long lasting relationships.

Throughout his life, Gary exemplified remarkable strength and resilience. Even while facing his own health challenges, he continued to support the community and volunteer his time to causes that mattered deeply to him, including the Family of Ellenville, Christmas Day Soup Kitchen at Aroma Thyme Bistro, and Run Like the Wind. His acts of kindness, and unwavering commitment to others reflected the very best of who he was.

He showed nothing but strength, vitality, and perseverance throughout his wonderful life. His legacy lives on in the family he adored, the community he served, and the countless lives he touched.

Funeral services will be held graveside at Congregation Ezrath Israel Cemetery, Route 209, Wawarsing, New York, at 11:00 a.m. on June 26, 2026.
