George J. Epifania, 88, passed away on Sunday Feb. 7, 2016 at the Sullivan county Adult Care Center in Liberty, NY. The son of the late Charles and Mary Weilmann Epifania, he was born in Brooklyn on March 16, 1927.

George was a member of St. Peter's Church in Liberty, NY and he was a member and Past Master of Lodge #464, F&AM in Downsville, NY and was a member of the Mystic Tie Henry Clay Masonic Lodge #272 in Manhattan. He was also a Shriner. He served his country as a US Navy Veteran from 1944 - 1946. George moved upstate in 1976 from Brooklyn. He lived for years in his beloved Roscoe, NY. He brought several new businesses to Roscoe; Mr. G's- a penny arcade and eatery; the first auto parts store (County Auto Parts) and the first car wash. He also introduced the Lottery to Roscoe.

Survivors include his son, George C. Epifania and his wife Jo-Ann of Liberty, NY; grandchildren, Rose Ann Etess and her husband Chad of Liberty and Michael Epifania of Liberty and three great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Thomas Etess and Jocelyn Epifania. He was predeceased by his wife , Beatrice "Betty" Epifania, on August 30, 2011.

There will be no visitation. George's funeral mass will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. Peter's Church in Liberty, NY. Burial with Military Honors will follow the mass at Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery, Sunset Lake Rd. Liberty, NY.
