George Martinez

October 4, 1950 — November 14, 2025

George Juan Martinez, 75, of Woodridge, New York, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025. He was the son of Neftali Martinez and Emilia Rosado, born on October 4, 1950, in Barcelona, Puerto Rico.

George was a Vietnam War Navy Veteran who served on the USS Theodore E. Chandler. He continued to serve the people of New York as a New York City Police Officer in the 40th & 52nd Precinct. He proudly retired in 1999.

George is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Isabel Martinez; his son Vincent G. Martinez.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025, from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788 with a funeral service to follow.

Interment will take place at Sullivan County Veteran's Cemetery, Liberty, NY, with full military funeral honors.
