Grace A. Tompkins, of Liberty, NY, passed away on Sunday February 28, 2016 at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, NY. She was 81. The daughter of the late Clifford and Cora Roberts Burton, she was born on December 10, 1934 in Maine. She was the widow of John Gordon Tompkins Jr. who died in 2002.
Grace was the former proprietor of Grace's Bar & Grill in Highland Falls, NY for many years. She was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her sons, Allen Tompkins of Fallsburg and John Tompkins and his wife Tina of Liberty, NY; sister, Hazel Swan of Maine; grandchildren, Trevor, Tompkins, Branden Tompkins. Krista Nash, Cassondra Garcia and Sheena Corzine; a great-grandchild, Zalaina Nash; cousins, Kent and Cloi Atherton and several nieces and nephews, including Rosalie Sims and John and Shirley Bult. Grace was predeceased by her daughter, Belinda E. Tompkins; brother, Francis Burton and a grandson, Dale Knapp.
Visiting hours are on Thursday March 3, 2016 from 7-9 PM at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 275 S. Main St. Liberty, NY. Funeral services are at 8 PM at the funeral home. Rev. Bridgette LeConey will officiate. Cremation will follow.
