Helen Filipovits, a longtime area resident, passed away on Monday December 10, 2012 at her home in Ferndale, NY. She was 83.
Helen was born on Nov. 29, 1929 in Austria. She was a member of St. Peter's Church in Liberty, NY and she had worked in the dietary department at Sullivan County Adult Care Center in Liberty.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, John and Nancy Filipovits of Monticello; her brother, Hansi Ivankovics and his wife Galinda of Austria; her grandchildren, Scott Filipovits and his wife Jenny and Tracy Filipovits; two great-grandchildren, Emma and Sean and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Paul , a son Rudy and a sister Mary.
Visiting hours are on Thursday December 13 from 5 - 8 PM at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 275 S. Main St. Liberty. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday Dec. 14 at St. Peter's Church in Liberty at Noon.
Burial will take place in St. Peter's Cemetery in Liberty following the mass.
