Hope N. Schwartz

February 17, 1948 — December 10, 2024

It is with a much-broken heart the family announces the passing of Hope Schwartz, a lifelong resident of Livingston Manor, N.Y. She passed away Tuesday, December 10th, 2024, while in care at Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital. No one could ask for a more wonderful sister or aunt.
She was the youngest of three daughters of Belle and Herman Schwartz. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Donna Bills and nephew Mark Bachrach.
Hope was the high school secretary for 32 years. She touched the lives of all the kids that she came in touch with in her quiet, gentle and kind way. She knew them all by name and they knew she cared about them. She was excellent at her work.
Hope was the biggest animal lover. Her cat "Bella" and many outside kitties frequented her house over the years. She loved feeding the ducks and deer. Watching the birds come to her feeder. She enjoyed gardening too. Her favorite time was sitting on her swing enjoying the nice brief summer weather and watching her animals. She looked forward to seeing her friends, Sue and Sharon. They would get together for concerts and other fun outings as she called them. She loved all the town events such as the parades, firemen's pancake breakfast and senior citizen's get togethers.
She is survived by the following family members, A sister Joan Ressler of Tucson, AZ, Her nieces Roni Buck and her husband Stephan of Tucson AZ, Vikki Bosley of Tucson, AZ, Denise Hoag of Livingston Manor, NY Erika Jones of Hampton, VA, and a nephew Tony Bills and his wife Melissa of Newport News, VA. Other family members include many, many other nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to also acknowledge here our cousin Michael Schwartz who spent many hours with our precious Hope in her final days while she was in a local hospital before her transfer to a NYC facility. Also, cousin Reva Kiss of Brooklyn NY who with her husband Daniel was able to see Hope while she was at Columbia-Presbyterian. Also to acknowledge Dawn Zeininger, a lifelong Livingston Manor friend to Hope who helped her around her home and fed her animals for many years.
The family is grateful to her and all of Hope's friends for being in her life.
In lieu of flowers the family would like to suggest donations in her name to the local Humane Society or an area Animal Rescue shelter.
