Irene Barber Filosa

Irene B. Filosa, age 89, of White Lake, NY and Miami, FL, passed away peacefully at home.
She was the daughter of Albert and Hazel (Stephenson) Barber, born on June 5, 1928 in White Lake, NY.
Irene graduated from Monticello High School and attended Russell Sage College. Irene's numerous life experiences included, owned and operated Fiesta Bar and Grill in White Lake, drove a taxi and jitney, served as hostess in some of the most popular restaurants in Miami, FL. One of Irene's greatest loves was dancing with her beloved husband Peter.
She is survived by her brothers: Harold A. and wife Paula of White Lake, Edward and wife Sandy of West Dover, VT; sister-in-laws: Inez Barber of FL and Barbara Barber of VT; numerous nieces and nephews, Richard, George, Harold G., Vincent, Edward, Daniel, Fred, Amber, Lorraine, Valerie, Darlene, Christina, Sandra, Randy and John Filosa; great-nieces and nephews; and extended family Rene & Magda Garcia and their children Giann' and Reanne of Miami, FL. She is predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband, Peter, and brothers Russell and James.
Services were held privately at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place at the Evergreen Cemetery, alongside her husband, on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 12noon.
