James J. Kelly, 85, a resident of Ferndale, NY, passed away on Friday November 11, 2016 at Achieve Rehab & Nursing Facility in Liberty, NY. James was one of 10 children of the late Charles and Naomi Wegman Kelly and was born on February 2, 1931 in Queens, NY. James was a retired truck driver for various trucking companies and he also drove school bus for Gershowitz Bus Co. in Liberty, NY.
James is survived by his wife Sharma Kelly at home; daughters, Dawn Conklin of Livingston Manor, NY and Susan Wagner DeWitt (George) of White Sulphur Springs, NY; brothers, George Kelly of Bedford, VA and John Kelly (Jeanie) of Smallwood, NY; a sister, Evelyn Brown of Smallwood, NY; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by six of his siblings.
Visiting hours will be on Monday Nov. 14 from 7 - 9 PM at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 275 S. Main St. Liberty and funeral services will be at Ramsay's Funeral Home on Tuesday Nov. 15 at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery.
