It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Jason Sherwood, who passed away on February 7, 2025. Born on August 22, 1977, in Harris, NY, to Sharon Porter and the late Orsell Sherwood, Sr., Jason was a loving father, son, brother, and friend.
Jason had a passion for cars – fixing them, driving them, and talking about them. He was always ready to lend a hand to those in need, especially when it came to anything automotive. He was known for his sense of humor, always bringing laughter and light into any room. Whether hanging out with friends, fishing, or traveling on a whim, there was never a dull moment when Jason was around.
Jason spent many years in landscaping, always taking pride in his work. He cherished his time spent with family, especially with his children and grandchildren, and held close to his heart the memories of spontaneous adventures and shared moments.
Jason is survived by his beloved mother, Sharon Porter, and his children Jason, Allyssa, Stephanie, Emily, and Noah Sherwood, as well as two grandsons and a granddaughter. He is also survived by his sisters Lisa Stanton and her partner Rob, and her children Vincent Stanton, Jr. and Melissa Stanton, and their father Vincent Stanton Sr.; his sister Elizabeth Sherwood and her partner Ramon Navarro, and their children Alycia, Ramon, and Daymon Navarro; his brothers William Porter, and his children Celina and Lindsey Porter, Orsell Sherwood and his partner Rachel Roser, and his children Alexis Sherwood, Montana Sherwood, Cody Sherwood, Nicholas Sherwood, and Abigele Lawrence; his brother Jeffrey Sherwood, his sister-in-law Winter Mangabang, and their children Daniel Porter, Danielle, and Leah Sherwood, nieces and nephews Shannon Curry, Michael Faddis and Sherry Faddis as well as many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
He is predeceased by his father, Orsell Sherwood, Sr., his brother Steven Porter, and his sister Kathleen Curry, his niece Tabitha Curry.
A visitation will be held from 11am to 1pm on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne NY 12788. A funeral service will be held at 1pm at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery, White Sulphur Springs, NY.
