Javier Velez of Ellenville passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023, at home surrounded by his family. He was 65.
He was the son of the late Ramon Velez and Carmen Lopez born in Brooklyn NY, on October 10, 1957.
Aspiring nurse became contractor. He enjoyed being with his family and always having his kids together. He loved like no other and had no problem showing it. The motto he lived by and will continue to follow is "I can fix it" always with a smile. He always referred to his daughters, step-daughter and wife as "His Girls".
Javier leaves behind his wife of 34 years Theresa Ziegler-Velez; his 2 sisters Miriam Velez and Lisa Martinez; his brother Raymond Velez; his 6 children: Victoria, Javier, Raymond, Matthew, Cherish and Theresa Marie, 16 grandchildren, stepdaughter Wendy Ayuso, son in laws Anthony Montalvo and Junior Ayuso; daughter in laws Julie Ziegler and Amber Ziegler and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be on Friday, October 6, 2023, at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home. 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788 from 2-4:00pm. A funeral service will be at the funeral home at 3:30 pm with Pastor Carl Caskey officiating.
