Jean F. Wood, a lifelong Sullivan county resident, passed away on Wednesday April 9, 2014 at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, NY. She was 68. The daughter of the late Lyn and Anita "Honey" Alexander Loughrey, she was born on December 5, 1945 in Livingston Manor, NY.
Jean worked as bookkeeper for Wood's Repair in Liberty, NY. She was a member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Liberty where she belonged to the Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Lyman Wood Jr. at home; her son, Lyman Wood III of Tucson, AZ; her daughter, Donna Lyn Bass of Liberty, NY; sisters, Lynne Hyzer and husband Ken of Livingston Manor, Barbara Wehner of Buffalo, NY and Lois Bertholf and husband Bill of Livingston Manor, NY; several nieces and nephews; two grand-kittys, three grand-puppies and one vocal bird.
The Wood family would like to thank their extended family at Catskill Regional Medical Center and Sullivan County Adult Care Center for the caring and compassionate care they gave to our Jean.
Visiting hours are on Saturday April 12, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 275 S. Main St. Liberty, NY. Funeral services will take place on Sunday April 13 at 2 PM at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 26 Chestnut St., Liberty, NY. Rev. Johanna Andritz will officiate. Burial will follow the services at Liberty Cemetery.
