Jeffrey Scott Friedman, age 71, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025, at Garnet Health Medical Center in Harris, NY. Born on April 26, 1954, in Flushing, Queens, NY, he was the beloved son of the late Morton and Marcia (Osher) Friedman.
Jeffrey is survived by his devoted sister, Cindy Blau and her husband, Mitchel Blau; His nephews, Andrew and Evan; as well as his many friends and extended family at Sullivan County ARC, where he was deeply cherished.
Jeffrey is predeceased by his father, mother, and brother, Wayne Friedman.
Gentle, loving, and kind-hearted, Jeffrey didn’t have a mean bone in his body. His warmth and light-hearted spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He found great comfort in simple joys—tennis balls, which became his cherished security blanket, and his love for music and television, especially Channel 2 and his favorite, Judge Judy.
Jeffrey was one for routine and comfort, with a deep appreciation for good food. He delighted in pizza, fish, homemade chocolate pudding, and chicken noodle soup. But perhaps nothing brought him more joy than sharing a cup of coffee—a tradition that began in his childhood and remained a treasured connection to his parents.
One of the sweetest bonds in Jeffrey's life was with his sister Cindy, whom he lovingly called “Ninny”—a nickname that was uniquely his and held dear by Cindy to this day.
