Joan B. Jurgens, a resident of Monticello since 1960, passed away peacefully on Monday July 7, 2014 at her daughter's home in Hyde Park, NY after a long, courageous battle with leukemia. She was 77 years of age.
Joan was the daughter of the late Willi and Barbara Nauberiet and was born on February 10, 1937 in New York City. Joan was a self-employed Real Estate Broker in Monticello, NY. She was a member of St. Peter's Church in Monticello and was also a member of Hudson Valley Tole and Decorative Painters.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories her husband of 58 years, John R. Jurgens at home; her son, David T. Jurgens and his wife Christine of Livingston Manor, NY; her daughter, Diane Jurgens of Hyde Park, NY; her sister, Babette (Betty) Heimler of Thousand Oaks, CA; her two grandchildren, Jesse Jurgens and Devan Jurgens and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Friday July 11, 2014 from 7 - 9 PM at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 55 St. John St. Monticello, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday July 12, at 11 AM at St. Peter's Church in Monticello, NY.
