Joann Pizza, 73, of Napanoch, NY, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Born on January 8, 1952, in Staten Island, NY, she was the beloved daughter of the late John Caviano and Ann Marie Gardella Caviano.
Joann dedicated her career to helping others as a cardiac technician—a role she truly loved. Her passion for her work was evident to all who knew her, and she took great pride in making a difference in the lives of her patients.
Outside of work, Joann was an avid reader and a devoted coffee enthusiast. She could often be found curled up with a good book and a cup of coffee—simple pleasures she cherished.
Above all, Joann’s heart belonged to her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the center of her world, and she never missed a moment to show her love and support.
She is survived by her daughter, Sondra Lee, and her fiancé Wayne of Livingston Manor, NY; her son, Karl Pizza, and his wife Louanne of Napanoch, NY; her granddaughters Nicole Burkey and her husband Kyle, and Britney Lee and her fiancé Dylan, all of Livingston Manor; and her cherished great-grandchildren Gabriella, Matthew, and Jacob.
She also leaves behind her siblings, Debbie Castelli and John Caviano and his wife Jill, as well as beloved member of the family, Joseph Lee.
Joann was predeceased by her husband Michael Pizza; her sisters Barbara Marion and Roxanne Caviano.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 PM on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY. A funeral service will follow immediately at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Grahamsville Rural Cemetery.

Joann will be remembered for her strength, warmth, and unwavering love for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
