Joel Schnee, 80, passed away peacefully at Garnet Health Medical Center.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Joel was the beloved son of the late Paul and Sylvia Schnee.

Joel had a lifelong passion for cars. Whether it was antique automobiles, hot rods, classic cars, or modern vehicles, he loved attending car shows and admiring every make and model. He was a true people person who was deeply community-oriented and never met a stranger. Joel was a social butterfly who enjoyed spending time with others and was happiest when surrounded by friends.

One of Joel's favorite places to dine was Texas Roadhouse, and he could often be found visiting local street fairs throughout the area. He enjoyed working on word finds and looked forward to attending his day program, where he cherished making new friendships. Joel took great pride in his appearance-everything always had to match, from his shoes to his clothes, and he thoroughly enjoyed shopping for just the right outfit. He had an incredible memory, never forgetting a face, a name, or even the car someone drove.

Joel leaves behind his many cherished friends at ADAPT of the Hudson Valley, whose friendship and companionship brought him much joy throughout the years.

Friends are invited to gather for visitation on Tuesday, August 4, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, New York. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m., officiated by Rabbi Joseph Kolakowski Interment will follow at Liberty Cemetery.
