John H. Hollenbeck Sr.

John Harold Hollenbeck passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, in Westchester, NY, at the age of 89. He was born in 1936 in Liberty, NY.

After completing school, John proudly served in the United States Marine Corps alongside his lifelong best friend, Larry Smith of Livingston Manor. During his time in the Marines, he attained the rank of Corporal (E-3) and was recognized as a Marksman. John will be remembered for his quiet strength, devotion to family, and lifelong service to his country.

John was predeceased by his parents John Hollenbeck and Elizabeth May Radney of Livingston Manor.

John is survived by his loving children: daughter Lisa Bailey and her husband John in Florida; son John Hollenbeck and his wife Christina in Livingston Manor; and son Scott Hollenbeck and his partner Stacie Rhodes of Livingston Manor. He also leaves behind several cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including a special bond with his grandson John Hollenbeck IV, with whom he shared a close and meaningful relationship.

He was predeceased by his brother James Hollenbeck, his daughter Lori Pepper, his grandson Edward Pepper, and his granddaughter Carolyn Jean Pepper.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 5, at 11:00 AM at the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery on Sunset Lake Road in Liberty, NY.
