John Osepowicz, of Woodridge, passed away on September13, 2025, at Northern Manor Nursing Home. He was 63.
He was born on December 30, 1961, to Marilyn Wroblewski and the late Charles Osepowicz, John was a free spirit who found joy in the simple things in life. He loved planting, fishing, boating, landscaping, and listening to music — especially rock and roll.
John faced a long battle with schizophrenia, but he never let it define him. Instead, his journey made him stronger and more resilient. At one time, he was a member of the NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) community, where he found support and connection.
A true “nature boy” at heart, John preferred life without electronics, finding peace in the outdoors. He also occasionally worked on cars, doing autobody work, and was known by friends and family as someone who always knew how to have a good time.
John is survived by his loving mother, Marilyn Osepowicz; his brother Michael and sister-in-law Adri; and Bodhi, his great-nephew Tyler; and many dear friends.
John is now with his beloved Carmen, his 30-year companion who passed away in 2024, and his brother David Osepowicz who passed away in 2017.
John will be remembered for his kind soul, his love of nature, and his unyielding spirit.
