Jose
Rivera
Jun 14, 1947 — Oct 1, 2026
Jose Del Carmen Rivera, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was 79 years old.
Jose was born on June 14, 1947, in San Germán, Puerto Rico, the son of the late Monserrate Rivera and Cesarina Ramos. For many years, he worked as a boiler technician. He was well loved and respected in his community and will be remembered for his wonderful personality, great sense of humor, and willingness to lend a helping hand.
Jose was a true outdoorsman who loved hunting, spending time outside, and watching old Westerns. He enjoyed having a good time with his buddies and could always bring laughter to those around him. He was a man who loved his family deeply and would do anything for them. One of his proudest accomplishments was building his home from the ground up, a home that held many cherished memories for him and his family.
Jose was extremely handy and seemed to have a natural ability to fix just about anything, whether it was something around the house or working on a car. He was always willing to share his knowledge and teach others something new. Those who knew him could count on learning something from Jose, whether it was how to repair something, solve a problem, or simply look at things from a different perspective. In his spare time, he was also an avid reader.
Jose leaves behind his loving wife, Iris Rivera; his son, Joey Rivera; his daughter, Joanne Rivera Ortiz; his grandchildren, Sean Gadsden, Kaylah Canas, and Tatiana Rivera; his great-grandchildren, Adrianna Gadsden and Ezra Gadsden; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
Jose's laughter, wisdom, humor, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. His greatest legacy will always be the love he gave to his family and the knowledge and kindness he shared with others.
