Joseph G. Petruzzi, 82, of Liberty, NY, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2015 at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, NY. The son of the late Nicodemo and Angelina Biscaglia Petruzzi, he was born on July 19, 1933 in Queens, NY. He was a supervisor for Kwake Plumbing and Heating in Queens, NY and he worked at Yaun Co. in Liberty after moving to Liberty. Joseph was A US Army Veteran having served during the Korean War and received the Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Karen Osmer Petruzzi at home; his son, Joseph Petruzzi Jr. and his wife, Debra, of Levittown, NY; daughters, Elizabeth Goetz and her husband, Thomas, of Ferndale, NY and Susan Bedard and husband Michael of St. Augustine, FL; sisters, Rose Mancuso of Port Washington, NY, Josephine D'Agostino and husband Tony of Comack, NY and Marylou Contarino and husband Tony of Stuart, FL and a granddaughter, Jessalyn Goetz of Ferndale, NY.
As per Joseph's wishes, he was cremated at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope, NY. A memorial service will be held at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 275 S. Main St. Liberty on Saturday November 14, 2015 at 1 PM with Fr. William Scafidi officiating.
