Julia Ginn Jacobs, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, died on November 12, 2014 at the Achieve Rehab & Nursing Facility at the age of 92. She was born on July 17, 1922 to the late Eli and Angel Ginn in New York City.

Julia had her own Children's Theatre. She danced in operatic productions and taught at the Lexington School for the Deaf. She was a substitute teacher at Monticello High School; member of Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop and creator of the Sullivan County Council of the Arts at Sullivan County Community College. Julia also proctored the exams for Frontier Insurance Co. Along with her deceased husband, James D. Jacobs, she taught a Drivers Safety Course. She also created Meals on Wheels for Sullivan County and was Periwinkle Players first leading lady in "Beauty and the Beast" and was an honorary member of Delta Sigma Pi.

She leaves behind her daughter, Leslie G. Gierisch; granddaughter, Angel Marie Gierisch and a cousin, Abby Goldstein.

Graveside services will be on Saturday, November 22 at 1 PM at Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery, where Julia will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, James D. Jacobs.
