Karen Halstead, of South Fallsburg, NY, passed away on Monday August 7, 2017 at Orange Regional Medical Center. She was 71. The daughter of the late John and Annamae Taylor Travis, she was born on January 21, 1946 in Middletown, NY.
Karen was a resident of Sullivan County for the past 20 years and had worked as a seamstress for General Awards in Florida, NY.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 58 years, Howard V. Halstead at home; sons, Timothy (Tanya) Halstead of Lackawaxen, PA and Robert (Dawn) Halstead of South Fallsburg, NY; daughter Elizabeth (Brian) McBeth of Equinox, PA; a daughter-in-law, Vera Halstead of Honesdale, PA; 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Karen was predeceased by two sons, William and Michael Halstead; brothers, Joseph and Charles Travis and a sister, Mary Wright.
Visiting hours are on Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 7-9 PM at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 55 St. John St. Monticello, NY. Funeral services will be held at 8 PM at the funeral home.
