Knapp, 89, of Brooksville, Florida, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2024.Born February 19, 1935 in Fremont Center, New York, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Lillian Newman. Kathleen attended Delaware Valley High School in Fremont where she was a majorette and later worked as a legal secretary in a law office in Liberty, New York. She married her beloved late husband, Donald Knapp, and together they raised their family.She was a longtime member of Brooksville Methodist Church, American Legion Post 186, and Brooksville Elks Lodge 2582. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and most of all, spending time with her family.Left to honor Kathleen is her son, Kevin Knapp and partner, Lisa Jurgens of Spring Hill, Florida and her daughter, Karen Morris of Brooksville, Florida; cherished grandchildren, Tessa Burns, Robert Kopp, Ericka French, and Kayla Knapp along with nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Donald Newman and Merton Newman; and sister, Hilda Stalker.A Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00-8:00pm, Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Merritt Funeral Home Brooksville, 2 South Lemon Avenue, Brooksville, Florida 34601. Funeral Services will take place at 2:00pm, Friday, May 24, 2024 at Brooksville Methodist Church, 109 South Broad Street, Brooksville, Florida, with Pastor Clark McClain officiating.A Graveside Service will take place at 11:00am, Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Hortonville Cemetery in Hortonville, New York where Kathleen will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Donald.
