Obituary

Kevin M. Stack passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 70 years old and leaves behind a legacy of hard work, selfless service, and unwavering devotion to his family and community.

Kevin was the beloved husband of Heidi Stack and a devoted father to Courtney Stack. He was a proud father-in-law to Jay Parent-Butryn and an adoring grandfather to Harper and Piper Parent-Butryn, who brought immeasurable joy to his life.

Throughout his career, Kevin was known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to help others. He began his professional life as a stage manager before working as a dispatcher for Webster Trucking and later delivering fuel for Diesel Direct. In every role, he earned the respect of his coworkers through his reliability, integrity, and dedication.

Kevin's greatest calling was serving his community. A proud lifetime member of both the Woodbourne Fire District First Aid Squad and the Woodbourne Fire Company #1, serving for 25 years, he answered countless calls with compassion, courage, and a steadfast commitment to helping others. His generosity and sense of duty left a lasting impact on those whose lives he touched.

Kevin was predeceased by his parents, Richard and Margaret Stack, and his sister, Shelia Stack.

He is survived by his loving wife, Heidi; his cherished daughter, Courtney, and her husband, Jay Parent-Butryn; his beloved granddaughters, Harper and Piper; his siblings, Doug Stack and his wife Anita, Dennis Stack and his wife Fran, Tom Stack and his wife Vivian, Colleen Parriott and her husband Don, Chris Stack and his wife Ruth, and Andrew Stack and his wife Jenny; his best friend and honorary brother, Richard Sporski and his wife Sherry; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and colleagues who will remember him with love and gratitude.

Kevin will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering dedication to his family, faithful service to his community, and the kindness he extended to everyone he met. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kevin's memory to the Woodbourne FD First Aid Squad, Inc., in honor of the organization to which he devoted 25 years of service.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 6, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, New York, with a Firematic service beginning at 8:00 p.m.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by interment at Workmans Circle #281 Cemetery in Glen Wild, New York.
