Kyle T. Essex

Kyle T. Essex, 46, of Sullivan County, passed away on August 3, 2025, at Montefiore Hospital in Nyack, NY.
Born on July 29, 1979, in Middletown, NY, Kyle was the beloved son of Paul and Judy (Towne) Essex. He was known for his warm personality and ability to connect with anyone he met. Kyle had a special gift for conversation—he never met a stranger and always left people smiling.
He enjoyed life’s simple pleasures: country music, peaceful days spent fishing, and the joy of being surrounded by family and friends. Kyle was deeply loved by his community, including his extended family at Sullivan ARC, where he formed lasting friendships and was an inspiration to many.
Kyle is survived by his parents, Paul and Judy Essex; his brother, Ryan Essex; niece Corrine Essex and nephew Jack Essex; his grandparents, Janine and John Brobst; uncles Charles Miller and Kent Essex as well as his aunt and uncle, JoEllen and Dan Phillips; as well as several cousins. He will also be deeply missed by his many friends and extended family through Sullivan ARC. Kyle is predeceased by his grandparents John and Margaret Towne and Glenn Essex.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788. A funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home, with Pastor Sharon Branning officiating.
Kyle’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
